I recently heard our company is taking a dip in earning and have been losing money. Want to know why?

1. We got too many process which waste our valuable time. I’ve got so many things to do and they asked me to attend various non important meetings. I might as well talk to talking watches to waste my time. Different department always want us to help them to hit their goal, but they always forgot that our first priority is to the customer, not to them.

2. Wrong resources segregation. Some of the departments are too free while we got too many shit to do.

3. Too many red-tapes. You would think that red-tape would improve the process but in our side, it would actually slow down our work. You need to attend this sort of meeting and some of the meetings don’t even need our presence.

4. And to make things worse, if you don’t attend meeting, people don’t know you and therefore, it would impede on your performance in the future. Pretty stupid huh? They want you to do less to climb the corporate world.

You know what they should do? Remove all the managers, take them off, fire them and then rehire totally different but capable people to lead the department.

I guess I’ve been giving myself some blogging holiday. Last I checked, it’s exactly 1 month since I did my last blog and I guess you can say I’ve been goofing off. Truth to be told, goofing off is hardly the word to describe my situation.

On the contrary, life has been so busy that I don’t know where to begin. Every day it seems my creativity for words has left me due to so much work that I was exhausted by the time I reach him. It seems that every time I tried going into writing a new post, creativity stuck me and I cannot proceed on further.

I guess stopping to blog for one month really give me the time to relax, to think about my life ahead, what I’ve been doing.

My company underwent some sizable reorganization and it seems it affected some other teams badly. Some colleagues would be relocated and others might actually lose their job. What happens if the same thing happens to me? Should I just become some futures broker? Maybe I should. Since blogging these days couldn’t earn me as much, I would think that would at least pay for my house and car.

Shit, I don’t know what to think these days. Already my job is robbing me of my creativity and my job insecurities as well? Shit. Let me get my train of thoughts together for the next post.

Don’t you hate it when someone treats you as a directory? When you tried talking to them, they either ignored you or even say a simple hi, but when they really need you then they would come and talk to you? This usually means you’re an acquaintance category and you are no longer their ‘friend’ after they’ve dug enough information from you.

You might be a Charlotte cosmetic dentist but do you think these people would care? You are part of their ‘unimportant’ network and you’re only valuable if you proof to be useful to these people.

So what do you do when you encounter these kinds of people?

1. Be an ass and tell them what they want to hear, albeit the wrong ones. For example they want to know where to get the camera’s cheapest price, so direct them to the most expensive ones. When they told you it cost them an arm and a leg, you can always tell them: “it wasn’t THAT expensive a year ago…”

2. Tell them nothing or tell them you don’t know at all.

3. Tell them the truth.

You have better idea how to handle these kinds of people?

I just realized that some of the most screwed up part in some people’s email is the signature. When it comes to the signature, you tend to see these tag line: “God bless…”, “Jesus is Lord” or even “God loves everyone of us”

You want to know what I think? I think people should have the decency to read what they are going to sent. Suppose you say you want to deliver a bad news like some guy’s wife just died or a church-goer’s husband is gay. You sent the very same mail and when the recipient read till the last part, imagine what they would think. Consider this scenario:

Lauren,

Yesterday upon taking your best diet pills from the church cabinet, I saw you husband was kissing Debbie with utmost passion. I think that you deserve to know the truth.

God bless.

Yours sincerely,
Joan

What, all of a sudden God is blessing the sinners within the sacred halls? Or perhaps she wants God to bless some heretic sinners? This beginning to sound like a pagan worshiping group. And it doesn’t happen in one place, it’s happening everywhere! You see it especially in the service industry. I’ve seen it every day:

Dear Customer,

I’m sorry about your hard drive but your warranty is over for the past one year. If you wish to purchase the hard drive, I shall pass your case over to the sales spare parts.

Regards,
Michael

Mission statement: Delighting our customer is our number one priority

You see where I’m getting? These people should have just their signature left as blank. Why want to even put anything there unless you want to advertise something. That is, if the advertisement is appropriate.

There’s only one comment about the movie: it suck. It failed at a level where it makes you wonder is it a right choice for Hong Kong stars to move into Hollywood. By seeing Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh aches my heart. They made great shows in Hong Kong and they were one of the best in their fields. However Hollywood seems to have dulled their edges and it seems the problem lies in the way Hollywood produce their movies.

One of the reason I heard many people complain about the movie is the lack of production quality that never existed in the past 2 movies. It’s a surprise why Brendan Frasier would even consider doing this movie. The most surprising is that it was directed by Rob Cohen and I think he needs a colon cleanse treatment for producing such a sucky movie compared to Dragonheart, XXX and Stealth.

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

<!--

Jet Li was the mighty emperor who united China and has come to realize he has to conquer immortality. His most trusted general finally found a mystic, Zi Juan (Michelle Yeoh) that helped him to become immortal. She cursed him to become an undead stone because he betrayed her by killing her lover (his general) and stabbed her.

So in the present movie, Alex (Luke Ford) found the Emperor’s tomb and celebrated because he has finally uncovered the China’s First Emperor’s Tomb. Unknown to him, General Yang (Anthony Wong) took over the museum where the Emperor was held and managed to revive him using the water of life. It so happens that Rick and Evey (Alex’s parents) was there to celebrate their son’s accomplishments. So begins the journey of the trio to stop the Emperor from taking over the world.

The movie was pretty boring halfway and like many other movies, the good triumph over evil and justice prevails. The Emperor was vanquished and the heroes celebrated the fact that they have gotten rid of the evil for the 3rd time.

One of the things lacking in the movie is that a solid plot. In the previous installment, Stephen Sommers (the director for the first two movies) made it in a way that there seems to be no hope of fighting the evil of that might. In this movie, all they need is a mystical sword and pierce his heart. And to make matters worse, Jet Li seems to be a shape shifting mummy, why not make himself an armored bad ass and stomp around the battleground instead of staying in human form?

The worst thing is the ending part, Michelle Yeoh would chant to strip her immortality to raise the dead; practically in English! It would be made believable if she chanted those in the same script as she did in the beginning of the movie.

So it is a good movie to watch? You bet. If you want to waste your money, that is.

“Why so serious? Let’s put a smile on that face!”

That was the famous quote from Joker. Trust me; after you watch through the whole show, you would absolutely love Heath Ledger. And if the DVD or Blu-ray comes out, trust me that you really need a discount home theater seating to really enjoy this movie to the max.

So what you have is one interesting movie as you see why Joker does what he do best and you will love him for it. Heath’s Joker seems to have a different agenda when doing crime and isn’t motivated by money or wealth. He does crime for the sake of doing it, like believing zealously that he played a part in this both sides of the war.

Batman is trying to pass his legacy of justice to the proper hands, Dent while trying hard not to screw things up. Trying as hard as it may, he still has some feelings for Rachel. To make things worse, Rachel is currently dating Harvey Dent. The very unfortunate encounter with Joker seems to fan the fire that’s already been raging over Gotham City since the whole fiasco started. Joker practically played these three together in a game of cat and mouse game in the whole movie.

This time, the story doesn’t concentrate much on Bruce Wayne or Batman but rather the whole complexity between Batman, Harvey Dent and Joker. Batman wants to leave the justice legacy to Harvey but despite of all that, Joker manipulated them till the point that Harvey lost his love, his face and his mind and wanted to avenge the death of his girlfriend Rachel Dawes.

And you know what’s so interesting about the show? It’s when you found that Harvey is becoming Two-Face, you’d though the movie is already over. However, it’s far from it and I kept finding myself have to sit down on my chair again after realizing the movie isn’t ending anytime soon.

I guess it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the last past 2 weeks has been the most hectic day of my live. Aside from preparation to support our large account customers on our new product, the psychology of moving boxes seem to have taken its toll on my body.

Back to the idiotic technical adviser, she started a war that she shouldn’t have. Unknown to me, there were bickering emails sent back and forth amongst her and the team leader and it seems that she managed to piss some of the manager. The guy came to me, with an email and asked me to list out what she lacked in performing in the technical department.

Technical Support is a civilized department where people don’t just shoot you off. They gave you time to prepare information for the last stand in any war. To me, I have put what I thought would be the most truthful insights: she has zero knowledge in technical expertise, despite of various training she went through.

I even put there that she should be a fashion adviser or make-up artist, not working in a technical front line where split second decision coupled with experience in technical knowledge is vital to keep the customers happy.

This is a very typical week for me. When I logged in already I need to clean up people’s shit especially when it comes from people who claimed to be technical savvy but does not know the difference between IP address to a MAC address.

What happens when an idiot is trying to handle a difficult case, so for example configuring a monitor? The answer is something that has boggled me for a long time. You see, we received a bunch of monitors that has repeated issues, like flickering and having lines. Unable to fathom what was replaced and following blindly of what our technical page said, she couldn’t understand why problem wasn’t resolved in the first place. I don’t blame her for being stupid but I do blame her for what she does next.

She threw the case back to the call taker, asking him to handle this case because she couldn’t offer any explanation.

The call taker was pretty pissed considering that this case should be handled by a high level technical experience person. She wasn’t what I would call smart. All she ever does is try to look pretty to impress her boss while following documentation to the book. All I can say is that it’s pretty dumb to operate in the real world.

The solution is pretty simple actually; compare the resolution that the customer set and cross reference with the optimal resolution on our monitor. It’s not as if we asked her to fix an AC compressor or something…

All she needs to do during that moment of truth is to seek knowledge from another fellow technical person. Even she failed as doing that. She failed being a human being as well as a technical adviser.

I reinstalled my Wordpress. I even tried removing the database and reinstate them and the issue remained.

I thought this page would need to foreclosure as I clear off all the stuff and recreate my blog.

Finally I found out from my web space provider that I’m using a badly coded theme. So far it’s been a week and every page seems to work fine without indication of any trouble. What a week for me.

I recently had the honor of doing a photo shoot with this young bubbly girl. Interestingly enough, she has funny bone all over her and even the smallest subsequent action warrant a burst of laughter from her. The weather was overcast for the whole day and therefore we have lots of idea on how to handle our shots.

Some of her shots even attracted an attention of an elderly man waiting for a bus!

If it were a normal day, we would have sweated our brows off and I usually wipe my eyes lots of times. I think I need Lasik operation or something.
