Mummy 3

There’s only one comment about the movie: it suck. It failed at a level where it makes you wonder is it a right choice for Hong Kong stars to move into Hollywood. By seeing Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh aches my heart. They made great shows in Hong Kong and they were one of the best in their fields. However Hollywood seems to have dulled their edges and it seems the problem lies in the way Hollywood produce their movies.

One of the reason I heard many people complain about the movie is the lack of production quality that never existed in the past 2 movies. It’s a surprise why Brendan Frasier would even consider doing this movie. The most surprising is that it was directed by Rob Cohen and I think he needs a colon cleanse treatment for producing such a sucky movie compared to Dragonheart, XXX and Stealth.

The Dark Knight

“Why so serious? Let’s put a smile on that face!”

That was the famous quote from Joker. Trust me; after you watch through the whole show, you would absolutely love Heath Ledger. And if the DVD or Blu-ray comes out, trust me that you really need a discount home theater seating to really enjoy this movie to the max.

Artificial Intelligent

AI Tachikoma

Interestingly, with Ghost in the Shell introduced something that is quite close what we have in development: Artificial Intelligent or AI. AI in GitS is somewhat placed in a neural-net where their minds can be expanded and have several application like maintaining the traffic or even help in maintenance. Tachikoma as shown above is a think-tank with a personality of curious children with the professionalism of a pro in covert operation. There’s one episode dedicated to them where they questioned their existence and since their memory are synchronized every night, they wonder how they are able to maintain their personality (it was because one of them had a oil spilled into their neural-net that has caused mutation in the AI development).

How I wish I have one of these in real life. It would be so easy to carry my luggage around.

I Need A Better Brain

A cyberbrain

This is called a cyberbrain and in Ghost In The Shell anime, this helps them to communicate through wireless means. Anyone with a cyberbrain talks to each other like having your handphone sending files via Bluetooth. Interestingly enough, cyberbrain has their own firewall and barriers, therefore making hacking impossible unless you allow it to. This allows for alienating society where everyone is so comfortable exchanging information all done in their head while their body is doing something else. The term ‘ghost’ is actually a soul that could not be proven by science but somehow it is there to make up for each individual. A full body that was duplicated could not function if no ‘ghost’ was present.

Who knows, you might even have Vegas vacations as a simulation while you’re waiting for a bus!

I Need Memory

Hantu Dalam Cengkerang

I was very forgetful these days. I wish that we could just plug a computer memory in our heads that could help us remember things easily. This reminds me of an anime that I watched recently called Ghost In The Shell. It tells the story of a future society where human received prosthetic implants to help them function in the society. Accident victims that have badly damaged body have their brain transferred to a fully prosthetic body while people with natural limbs usually have a small chip implanted on the base of the neck that could help them to have a heighten memory and is able to recall even the smallest detail.

Think this detail would help me a lot in my work. This is the era where we’re burdened with lots information that we can become forgetful. We somehow need technology’s help to augment our abilities to think and handle our information in our head.
