Don’t you hate it when someone treats you as a directory? When you tried talking to them, they either ignored you or even say a simple hi, but when they really need you then they would come and talk to you? This usually means you’re an acquaintance category and you are no longer their ‘friend’ after they’ve dug enough information from you.

You might be a Charlotte cosmetic dentist but do you think these people would care? You are part of their ‘unimportant’ network and you’re only valuable if you proof to be useful to these people.

So what do you do when you encounter these kinds of people?

1. Be an ass and tell them what they want to hear, albeit the wrong ones. For example they want to know where to get the camera’s cheapest price, so direct them to the most expensive ones. When they told you it cost them an arm and a leg, you can always tell them: “it wasn’t THAT expensive a year ago…”

2. Tell them nothing or tell them you don’t know at all.

3. Tell them the truth.
