Email Signature

I just realized that some of the most screwed up part in some people’s email is the signature. When it comes to the signature, you tend to see these tag line: “God bless…”, “Jesus is Lord” or even “God loves everyone of us”

You want to know what I think? I think people should have the decency to read what they are going to sent. Suppose you say you want to deliver a bad news like some guy’s wife just died or a church-goer’s husband is gay. You sent the very same mail and when the recipient read till the last part, imagine what they would think. Consider this scenario:

Lauren,

Yesterday upon taking your best diet pills from the church cabinet, I saw you husband was kissing Debbie with utmost passion. I think that you deserve to know the truth.

God bless.

Yours sincerely,
Joan

What, all of a sudden God is blessing the sinners within the sacred halls? Or perhaps she wants God to bless some heretic sinners? This beginning to sound like a pagan worshiping group. And it doesn’t happen in one place, it’s happening everywhere! You see it especially in the service industry. I’ve seen it every day:

Dear Customer,

I’m sorry about your hard drive but your warranty is over for the past one year. If you wish to purchase the hard drive, I shall pass your case over to the sales spare parts.

Regards,
Michael

Mission statement: Delighting our customer is our number one priority

You see where I’m getting? These people should have just their signature left as blank. Why want to even put anything there unless you want to advertise something. That is, if the advertisement is appropriate.

hahah~~ damn… this is really funny…Mmm…. Maybe the 1st thing I should do when I am back to office tomorrow is to review my email signature….

know what? I used to put my email signature as “all models are wrong, but some are useful”… in which I was the IE who’s doing the capacity modeling for our production line… haha~~
