Movie Review: The Dark Knight
“Why so serious? Let’s put a smile on that face!”
That was the famous quote from Joker. Trust me; after you watch through the whole show, you would absolutely love Heath Ledger. And if the DVD or Blu-ray comes out, trust me that you really need a discount home theater seating to really enjoy this movie to the max.
*Warning: Spoilers ahead*
So what you have is one interesting movie as you see why Joker does what he do best and you will love him for it. Heath’s Joker seems to have a different agenda when doing crime and isn’t motivated by money or wealth. He does crime for the sake of doing it, like believing zealously that he played a part in this both sides of the war.
Batman is trying to pass his legacy of justice to the proper hands, Dent while trying hard not to screw things up. Trying as hard as it may, he still has some feelings for Rachel. To make things worse, Rachel is currently dating Harvey Dent. The very unfortunate encounter with Joker seems to fan the fire that’s already been raging over Gotham City since the whole fiasco started. Joker practically played these three together in a game of cat and mouse game in the whole movie.
This time, the story doesn’t concentrate much on Bruce Wayne or Batman but rather the whole complexity between Batman, Harvey Dent and Joker. Batman wants to leave the justice legacy to Harvey but despite of all that, Joker manipulated them till the point that Harvey lost his love, his face and his mind and wanted to avenge the death of his girlfriend Rachel Dawes.
And you know what’s so interesting about the show? It’s when you found that Harvey is becoming Two-Face, you’d though the movie is already over. However, it’s far from it and I kept finding myself have to sit down on my chair again after realizing the movie isn’t ending anytime soon.
