Movie Review: Kungfu Panda
If you think a flight deals is better than watching this movie, think again. I just watched this show and I have to say that this is one of the most entertaining animations that I’ve seen to date. It is funny and followed the Chinese history well in the world of Martial Arts with animals bringing life to the characters.
*Warning: Spoilers ahead*
Po, a huge panda, was a noodle seller destined by his father to follow his footstep to become the best noodle maker in the valley. Deep inside he loves everything to do with Kungfu and he was a fan of the Furious Five (tigress, snake, monkey, praying mantis and crane). One day, the protector of the valley, Master Oogway and Shifu announced that they will choose a new Dragon Warrior to protect the valley from Tai Lung.
As luck would have it, Po was chosen as the next Dragon Warrior despite of not having any basics in martial arts. He was deliberately trained harshly by Shifu so that he will quit in his own volition but the training only made him want to continue with his journey to become a kungfu master. As Tai Lung is approaching the valley, Master Oogway passed away and he asked Shifu to continue teaching Po (remember what Gui Gon asked Obi wan to do?). As the Furious Five took their own accord to stop Tai Lung, they failed miserably only to realize that Shifu took different steps to train Po.
A big fight occured as Tai Lung defeated Shifu only to laugh a mere panda is going to defeat him. He managed to slam Po badly but with his harsh training, it was nothing for him. He tried various nerve moves to stop the panda but failed because a panda is simply too fat. Using the tai-chi moves taught by Shifu, he managed to defeat the powerful Tai Lung and save the valley from his wrath.
One verdict: great movie and do not miss this show. I just can’t wait to get the DVD (clear version of course, ehem…)
I guess you seen the english version… The Cantonese one also very good… it follows the story line and the jokes was about Hongkie styled …
Yes, I saw the Cantonese one as well, kind of reminded me of those old 70s wuxia movies.
I watched this in an IMax theater and it sure was a treat! It feels like the characters are just right in front of you. Do they have Imax in M’sia?
Yes they do but I couldn’t confirm since they’re in KL.
