Printing Miracle 0

bigassprinter.jpg

“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” - Arthur C Clarke.

Recently I was able to handle our laser printers and I was surprised of its intricate design. It has a paper feeder, rolled towards the transfer belt and then the coloured powder is fused in a roller. All of it was done in less than a second. The best part is that the printer quality matches to those magazines you see on the news stand.

I’m not sure why I felt so nostalgic about some of technological wonders that we have taken for granted. This is a real cold fact that describes us human.

The same thing goes with espresso machines, how they really work within really holds our curiosity and imagination at the same time.

The same thing goes to the thing we call computer. What really surprised me is how a small semi-conductor chip we call processors can actually handle multi tasking within 12″ x 6″ motherboard that could have 2GB of memory that fit into a 4″ x 1″ module. With that highly advanced electronic cells going around the circuit board, we can watch movie, surf the net, and even play games on it. Isn’t technology just amazing?

Movie Review: Ratatouille 0

Watching Ratatouille is like watching Toy Story all over again. Magically the mouse can talk and have human thoughts and yet still scorned over typical stereotype that rodents are dirty. While they interact with human with simplest of ease, this whole show is built on a foundation that ‘anyone can cook’. Fans of Pixar should have no problem loving this show including yours truly.

Movie Review: Cars 0

I can’t believe I have brought the Cars DVD and never watched them until recently. Although Cars may not be one of Pixar’s finest, but it does it job and it’s somewhat better than Meet the Robinsons. The animation was fun and you tend have the same feeling when you watch Toy Story.

I’m Back 1

Seriously, these days I was so busy transferring my old stuff to the new server. How unfortunate because getting addicted to World of Warcraft can do a lot of bad things to you. Like getting more lazy to update your blog. So what did you do in such events? Basically you abandoned them to rot until the end of time.

I was just joking.

Seriously, it’s been nearly a month my website went down because my old hosting received complains that it’s a phishing site. They never even bother to check the accusation and immediately suspended my account. So I told myself, well if these guys are not paying attention to their customer, there’s no point for me to continue hosting with these guys. Not that I complain but since they have a ’shoot first talk later’ policy, I think I’m wouldn’t want to be the end of the barrel when the shit hits the fan.

So with a new hosting, I realized that my old database could not be ported over because the old hosting uses a reseller account and this new one isn’t. After trying for like 3 weeks trying to restore my database, I give up. What could be better than restarting my blog fresh a new? I think there are many stories on that particular subject, so let’s just accept everything as it is.

I’m back.
