Movie Review: Cars

I can’t believe I have brought the Cars DVD and never watched them until recently. Although Cars may not be one of Pixar’s finest, but it does it job and it’s somewhat better than Meet the Robinsons. The animation was fun and you tend have the same feeling when you watch Toy Story.

*Spoilers ahead*

Lightning McQueen is the fastest growing rookie in the Piston Cup Tournament and he’s looking forward to be the champion for the whole season, beating the old timer The King. However, the last match severed them in a tie which brought them to another tie-breaker in California. Half-way there, he was accidentally left in the middle of the road out in nowhere and stumbled into Radiator Springs.

Sentenced to rebuild the road because he accidentally made a mess out of them during a panic attack, he made friends with the locals and realized that there’s more than meets the eye. Interestingly enough, he realized the mayor was an ex-racer, found love with a Porsche, and even gain trust from the locals.

Basically, it’s a story where the protagonist fell from grace only to find his way back to heaven again. While the public may think this as a kid’s show, it has nothing of that sort. The plot outline and the moral value could only be understood at 12-years old or higher. Could it be that Pixar is maturing their production?

In any case, this is one show that you would want to sink your butt on. This is where a home theater popcorn machines should come in handy. The production quality is what you should expect from a Pixar movie.
